Off the train at Old Street and hungry? Kybelle is a short walk down Great Eastern Street — here's why it's worth the detour.
Old Street station sits at the mouth of Shoreditch, and if you've just stepped off the Northern line hungry, you have options — most of them chains. Walk two minutes down Great Eastern Street instead and you'll hit Kybelle at number 62, an independent café doing breakfast, brunch and lunch all day.
What to order
Early start? The Shoreditch Fry Up — fried egg, grilled sausage, streaky bacon, portobello mushrooms, hash browns and beans on sourdough — sorts you out properly. Something different? Try the çılbır Turkish eggs or the halal-friendly Mediterranean Breakfast.
Coffee for the commute
If you're grabbing and going, our espresso drinks use beans roasted by Ozone Coffee, and there's a full matcha and tea range. Takeaway is quick — we're used to the morning rush.
The practical bit
Open Monday to Friday from 8am (until 4pm) and weekends 9am–5pm. Walk-ins only — no booking, no waiting on an app. From Old Street, take the Great Eastern Street exit and we're on your left before Curtain Road. Also an easy walk from Shoreditch High Street and Liverpool Street. Directions here.
